I have always wanted to own my own business - a business that helps people relax, enjoy and revisit who they are. When I was younger, I decided to go to cosmetology school. At that time I had two kids. It was great, but there was still something missing from my career.
Years later it came to me. I was driving my car and listening to music and I heard a voice. It simply told me "massage school." I thought to myself, "ok!! Where and how much?" I searched online for Las Cruces massage schools and found MTTI. It felt like destiny.
After graduating from a medical massage program, I knew I wanted to work in the health care field. My first experience practicing medical massage in a health care setting was working at a hospital as an Oncology Massage Therapist. It was one of the most rewarding and awe-inspiring experiences of my life.
After I graduated High School I knew I wanted to go to some form of college but wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to do. I've always been interested in the health care field and I knew I wanted to care and heal people, but how? Did I want to be a nurse? A doctor?
In my massage therapy career, I have had the privilege to work in many wonderful environments. Each environment presented its own challenges and opportunities, and I gained valuable experience from each and every one. Often, massage therapists find they prefer either the medical or spa settings, but I was lucky enough to love them both equally.
We recently received this letter from an MTTI graduate:
"Lately I have had a lot of times when I have wanted to say thank you to you guys. The training I received at MTTI has been invaluable. My "toolbox" is full of so many tools that I can't go wrong. I always have something else I can try, but my instincts point me to the right ones right away almost every time. People are amazed that I know what is going on with them just from the description they give me of their problem. They are impressed that I can explain to them why their body is acting the way it is. I had a lady today ask me if I had chiropractic training because of how well I understood the body. (Thank you Doc Yamani.) It has been so encouraging at my new job. There are other therapists who have been there for years and I am able to explain things to them that they hadn't been trained on. My confidence is sky high I am loving what I do every day I get to do it. When I work on a person I am focused on structure and function not just a relaxing massage. It makes a huge difference to the clients. You guys rock. Thank you Doc. Thank you Chrissy. Thank you Tim. Thank you everybody at MTTI. You helped me get to my dream, the career I was made to do." - Lauren
